The Hidden Dangers in Amusement Park Fun

You may not know the hidden dangers in amusement park fun. If an amusement park accident occurs, you will want to make sure you contact the most experienced and knowledgeable attorneys possible, when it comes to amusement park accidents and wrongful deaths. This type of attorney will specialize in this kind of law in order to represent the injured person or their family in the case of a death properly against what will be very experienced in protecting the corporation they are employed by.
Summer is just around the corner and will be here before you know it. Unfortunately that means it is also time for amusement park accidents and wrongful death cases to be on the rise. Most people are not even aware that there are literally thousands of amusement park accidents occurring each year caused by the hidden dangers in amusement park fun. Enough that many of the large amusement parks add into their budget funds for accidents, this of course does not cover accidents that result in major injuries or wrongful deaths at their park and end in a lawsuit. The fact that they expect to have slight injuries that will end in a financial settlement would frighten the common park visitor if they read the budget reports. Common injuries include deglove, brain injury, wrongful death, facet joint syndrome, whiplash, fractured skull, eye injuries, coma and complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS).
There are a number of different situations that can be the cause of amusement park accidents or even wrongful deaths, such as: broken or missing safety pins on a ride, structurally weakened parts - including seat belt restraints, different weather conditions such as wind, rain or lightning, amusement park workers inadvertently acting in a negligent way, and a number of others. Amusement park attendees also play a part in the number of accidents that occur each year, not even realizing that they could be adding to the chances of an accident happening, such as: rocking or tipping a ride car, wearing the safety harness incorrectly or not at all, standing on rides where standing is not allowed, and there have been some attendees known to carry small children outside of the safety harness restraints that resulted in accidents by losing their grip on the child and then dropping them.
No one likes having to think of tragedies of any type, but especially one of this nature. When family or friends are out having what is supposed to be a joyous and happy occasion, and instead you are having to face this type of accident, you need the assurance of knowing the law firm you contact are very familiar with the laws and guidelines concerning amusement park accidents or wrongful deaths.

Amusement Park Travel Tips

If you are like most people you travel to an amusement park at least once every year. Reasons why people may do this are to spend time with their family, get away from everyday life, relax, let their children have fun, and many other great reasons. Most people, however, fail to realize that amusement park travel is something that should be well planned and well thought out.
One of the most important steps in the planning process is picking a park that is within your budget. There are many great amusement parks out there that provide quality family entertainment, while being light on the wallet. Another important aspect to take into consideration is how many of the attractions you can do together as a family. Many rides and attractions have height requirements for safety reasons, and that prevents many small children from being able to participate. This rule gets many people upset and frustrated so it is very important to check ahead and research this policy.
Amusement park travel is something that everyone in the family can look forward too. Kids especially enjoy the planning process that goes along with it. Get your kids involved in the planning process, and who knows maybe they know more about a place then you do. Amusement park travel is meant to be fun and exciting for everyone. The planning and development stages are always the least exciting part about amusement park travel. Do not let this get you down, make it exciting, make it fun, and most importantly do your research.

Public Relations for Amusement Parks

Amusement Parks all too often get a bad rap and negative reputation that they do not deserve. This is because often they attract so many people that they also attract the bad element too and this is said to bring in crime. Of course anytime you increase the number of people in an area you have to realize that the crime also goes up. But also consider all the good things that large Amusement Parks do for a community.
They bring in tourists and money and that means increased sales tax revenues for the local community and city services. Additionally, an amusement park might provide up to 8,000 or more jobs and that does wonders for a local economy, all the small businesses and it increases the standard of living and quality of life for all.
Too often the positives are not promoted strongly enough to educate the local masses and this causes problems. But a strategic public relations campaign can indeed promote the goodwill needed for the amusement park. The most important thing in a public relations program for an amusement park is to keep clear channels open in the media so that they can get publicity for an event, new rides and attractions or local community days to allow the local city folks to come and enjoy the facilities. Consider all this in 2006.

Amusement Park Injuries - Know Your Rights

Every year, millions of people in the United States and around the world flock to amusement parks to see exciting entertainment and to ride their favorite rides. Theme parks have long-been considered one of America's most wholesome places for family fun. However, not all trips to amusement parks are the fun-filled, safe family outings we'd like them to be. Unfortunately, what has always been considered a wonderful form of entertainment for all ages carries with it the very real possibility of serious injury or even death.
In the United States, no official source is keeping a complete national record of theme park accidents, and in many states such as Florida, theme parks are not legally required to report accidents involving injuries.
However, based on reports and estimations, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has published a study stating that there are approximately 5,000 amusement park ride-related injuries each year, and that there were 67 fatalities from rides in 2004 alone. The CPSC cites a number of factors involved in the number of injuries and deaths reported including mechanical failure, design defects, poor maintenance, operator behavior, and consumer behavior.
The laws surrounding the amusement park industry are numerous, complex and vary from state to state. Regulation and inspection of amusement rides are left up to the state or local municipality. Most states do provide some sort of amusement ride regulation; however, consumers really have no way of knowing exactly how many people have been injured at parks such as Universal Studios Florida and Disney World.
As a matter of fact, the largest amusement parks in Florida are exempt from state regulations that require all injuries be reported and are exempt from the regulations that allow the state authorities to shut down and inspect the rides. Nonetheless, the Disney Company voluntarily submits to safety inspections on a regular basis.
Because the laws in this industry are so complex, the expertise of a personal injury lawyer with experience in this arena may be necessary to fully understand your rights as a guest of the amusement park should you be injured. There are three types of law involved with liability for amusement park accidents: negligence (tort) law, product liability law, and premises liability law.
According to the International Association of Amusement Park Attractions (IAAPA), going on amusement park rides is one of the safest forms of recreation in America. The organization states that you are more likely to be injured when you play sports, ride a horse, or even ride a bicycle. Their statistics show the occurrence of death on a ride to be approximately 1 in 250 million riders.
Regardless of the statistics, accidents do happen, and if one happens at an amusement park, there are steps you can take to protect yourself and possibly receive compensation for your injury.

Bay Beach Amusement Park: Family Holiday Heaven

Wisconsin might be better known as the home state to Harry Houdini and Orson Welles, but it also contains a variety of tourist attractions to entice visitors from across America and the world. One of these attractions is the Bay Beach Amusement Park, a small amusement park near the mouth of the Fox River in Green Bay, Wisconsin. If you're looking for a family outing full of good, solid fun, then Bay Beach Amusement Park will be your ideal holiday destination.
The amusement park has a rich history which stretches back to 1892; in this year, a young entrepreneur called Mitchell Nejedlo, inspired by the areas natural beauty, bought a small strip of land to begin developing the land for a private beach resort which he named Bay View Beach. Though the poor roads at the time made it difficult for him to attract visitors through the often swamp, mosquito-infested land, he worked hard to improve the fledgling resort. Nejedlo built a dance hall, bar and a small bath house; he also planned to sell individual lots on the land as sites for summer cottages. Before long, Nejedlo needed a partner, and in 1902, he teamed up with Captain John Cusick who eventually bought out Nejedlo in 1908.
Cusick continued the expansions that Nejedlo had started, beginning a service that ferried passengers from their dock just south of the Walnut Street Bridge to the new dock at Bay View Beach in a boat that could contain up to 400 people. As swimming became more and more popular at Bay View Beach, Cusick began renting swimsuit for ten cents a piece, a venture which proved incredibly lucrative. From this time onwards, the expansion of Bay Beach was well under way, and only became increasingly successful with time. Bay Beach Amusement Park, as it is now called, rose in popularity as a venue for rallies and concerts; for example, the park's tercentennial celebration saw Franklin D Roosevelt address thousands of residents and visitors to the area.
Today, Bay Beach has a number of attractions including the nearby Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary, which is a 700-acre nature reserve where visitors can feed geese, ducks and other small animals. Bay Beach Amusement Park itself houses a number of rides as well; its famous rollercoaster, built in 1901 but dismantled in 1936, has remained an absent feature of the amusement park; but recent exciting plans have come about to erect another roller coaster at Bay Beach.
Bay Beach Amusement Park is a fantastic place to take your family and friends, and there is a variety of comfortable and affordable hotel accommodation in and around the Green Bay area. So, if you're interested in finding a great way to spend some quality time with your family in Wisconsin, choose Bay Beach Amusement Park for a wealth of leisure activities and memorable fun.

9 Amusement Park Tips You Need to Know

Before you throw your kids in the car and head off for a day at the amusement park, there are some things you need to consider. Few things can be more frustrating and disappointing than going to an amusement park ready to have a great time, only to end up having a miserable day instead.
With these tips you can ensure that your family has a day to be remembered fondly for many years to come.
1. Check the Forecast. This seems obvious, but so often, with all the other planning that goes into a trip to an amusement park, people fail to check the weather forecast. Just because it’s sunny now doesn’t mean it will be this evening. So tune into the weather forecast, and if the temperature is going to be blazing (or freezing!) or heavy thunderstorms are moving in, plan your amusement park trip for a different day.
2. Dress For Success. Forget about those oh-so-cute outfits and high fashion. Go for comfort and coolness. Some travel specialists suggest a bathing suit and flip-flops as the outfit of choice for an amusement park. You may want to add an old T-shirt and pair of shorts or a cover-up, especially for the children.
3. Lather Up. Many a great day at the amusement park has been spoiled by lack of SPF. Sunburn is the last thing you want for yourself or your kids, so slather on the sunscreen well and often, and relax.
4. Travel light. When you have children, there’s a tendency to take every item you think they might possibly need -- or even think about needing. Having to carry heavy bags, or bags of any kind for that matter, can ruin your day at the park. So pack lightly and don’t worry if you leave some things behind. More than likely no one will notice because they’ll be having such a great time. If you feel you must carry a bag, check it into a rented locker, so you won’t be lugging it all over the park.
5. Set Expense Limits Before You Go. Temptation is heavy at amusement parks. Oh, the food, the games, the souvenirs! Make a budget and be sure everyone knows how much they’re allowed to spend. Knowing the limits beforehand will not only ensure that you don’t overspend, it will also cut down on the begging and whining you’ll have to listen to all day—and that’s always a good thing!
6. Go Early. Showing up early at an amusement park is the best way to beat the crowds and avoid long lines for rides and other activities. Have your tickets ready and you’ll be at the head of the line.
7. Plan Your Strategy. You want everyone in the family to be able to do the things they want to. For this to happen, you’ll have to do some pre-planning. Get a map of the amusement park in advance and find the best route that will give everyone a chance to accomplish at least part of what they want. No one should be left out, even you!
8. Conserve Your Energy. Don’t try to do the most strenuous activities (such as wave pools) as soon as you get to the amusement park. Activities like these are very hard on little ones, and you don’t want them to get overtired too quickly. So alternate more strenuous activities with less strenuous ones. Take frequent breaks to hydrate and rest, especially if you have children under the age of 12.
9. Make Sure Everyone Follows the Amusement Park Rules. Thrills and chills are part of the overall entertainment at an amusement park, but you want to be sure it’s the right kind of excitement. For instance, don’t let a child who is too small get on a ride just because he’s with Dad. It’s too dangerous. Following the park’s rules and regulations will keep everyone safe and thrilled in all the best ways.

The most popular roller coaster is Tony Hawk's Bing Spin. Each individual car can seat up to four passengers. The cars spin around in circles, nonstop, as they ride on over 1,300 feet of twisted track. This coaster is five stories high, and begins with a 27 foot drop. Its top speed is only 31 mph, but the nonstop, uncontrollable spinning is more than enough to make up for the average speed.
Other popular, thrilling rides are the Superman Krypton Coaster, Goliath, and Scream. There are also plenty of water rides for those seeking for a chance to cool off in the Texas heat! The Lone Star Lagoon is a giant wave pool shaped just like Texas. Kids especially find a lot of entertainment in the wave pools and slides.
